Qualifications for the Fulbright Scholarship in 2023
Candidates must fulfill the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for a 2023 Fulbright Scholarship:
1 .English is a requirement
155 nations are represented among the eligible nations for international students.
Each country has different requirements for program eligibility and selection.
Please visit the websites for your country to learn more about the Fulbright Program there, including eligibility requirements and application procedures.
To apply for a Fulbright scholarship in 2023, please follow the steps listed below in order:
2. Submit an online form
The USEFP will need a variety of materials to evaluate your qualifications when you apply for the Fulbright program. Your application must be submitted with all supporting documents.
3. Prepare degrees and academic transcripts
All transcripts and diplomas from a 4-year undergraduate program or one that is comparable; comparable degrees include ACCA or international 3-year bachelor’s degrees. Transcripts and an MPhil or MS degree are required for PhD applicants. If you’re in your final year of undergraduate study and plan to graduate by December of this year, you may also apply.
4. GRE General Test and TOFEL are required
If you have received your official GRE score, you may also include it in your application along with your unofficial GRE score from the exam day. Each applicant must use the code 9388 to ask ETS to send USEFP an official score report. It is necessary to submit GRE general (international) test results while applying. A respectable GRE score is 315 or higher for engineering and science, and 310 or higher for all other areas. Not necessary is the GRE subject test.
5. There must be three letters of recommendation
By the application deadline, you must include three recommendations with your application. You can have three letters of recommendation from academic sources, two from professionals and one from academics, or two from each. In other words, you absolutely need one academic reference letter. Your referees must complete the reference forms included in the application package and then seal the envelopes with their signatures and stamps. An online form will be delivered to your referees through email once you’ve submitted your application online.
6. Make two essays
For the Fulbright application, there are two essays. Each essay must be submitted in the allotted space on the application form, which is roughly 800 words. Simply write in plain language so that the Fulbright panel, which is unfamiliar with your environment, can better grasp you. Don’t overthink your writings. You must develop your own marketing approach before you begin writing the essays. Writing and revising essays for successful candidates often takes 4-6 weeks.
7. Create an academic resume
To the space provided on the application form, please attach your most recent and current resume. It is not necessary to have it in a specific format.
Please submit all the above documents online and its free of cost.
8. Interview
You might receive an invitation to a panel interview after submitting and having a look at your written application. Decisions regarding interviews are made by mid-September, and interviews are held in October. If you do not hear from USEFP by October, it is assumed that you were not chosen. The interview is a good indicator of selection, but admission is not guaranteed. A four-person panel conducts the 15-to-30-minute interviews. Although taking the TOEFL exam by the interview date is not required, you must bring your TOEFL registration slip with you on the day of the interview.
