You Too Can Be A Foreign Exchange Student
Have you ever thought about why there are numerous foreign students attending your college, school or university? Have you thought about the possibility of taking a trip abroad to further your studies?
Many full-time overseas students are enrolled in an academic degree in the college they attend and remain for the three or four years required to finish the program.
There are , however, thousands of foreign students who study on a short-term basis, generally during either the third or second year in their studies. A lot of foreign exchange students are an Honorary member of the families they visit. When their time in the country is over and it’s time to go home, it can be a difficult and bittersweet time. It may also be difficult for the host family since they must let go of the child who lived with them for several months.
Often, the family of the host and the student make lifelong friendships and regularly visit one another.
